چکیده
Chasing is one of the main decorative techniques found in metal work. The imprints left by different chasing tools are unique not only to tool, but also chaser. analysis and characterisation toolmarks provide vast information that valuable for understanding an object. Microtopography a non-contact imaging technique allows metrical surface on microscopic scale. In this paper, mock-ups made using were scanned microtopography, their morphological features used classify fabrication. artificially aged replicate conditions real archaeological objects. overall classification accuracy obtained non-aged was 91% brass 84% copper mock-ups. After ageing, 65% 68% copper. change before after ageing caused corrosion These results show promising methodology could be applied chased

Semiautomatic mammographic parenchymal patterns classification using multiple statistical features.
RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES Our project was to investigate a complete methodology for the semiautomatic assessment of digital mammograms according to their density, an indicator known to be correlated to breast cancer risk. The BI-RADS four-grade density scale is usually employed by radiologists for reporting breast density, but it allows for a certain degree of subjective input, and an objective ...
متن کاملSemiautomatic classification of cementitious materials using scanning electron microscope images
Segmentation and classification are prolific research topics in the image processing community, which have been more and more used in the context of analysis of cementitious materials, on images acquired with Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) . Indeed, there is a need to be able to detect and to quantify the materials present in a cement paste in order to follow the chemical reactions occurri...
متن کاملThe Topografiner: An Instrument for Measuring Surface Microtopography
Russell Young, John Ward, and Fredric Scire published their paper on the topografiner in 1972 [1]. Nearly 30 years later, it is tempting to say that scanning probe microscopy (SPM) needs no introduction. The number of papers concerning this technique is now approaching 5000 per year (Fig. 1), so that hardly any technical professional with an interest in microscopy can have escaped acquaintance ...
متن کاملUsing Sensor Dirt for Toolmark Analysis of Digital Photographs
Dust particles that collect on the image sensors of digital cameras often leave marks on the pictures taken with these cameras. The question therefore arises whether these marks may be used for forensic identification of the camera used to take a specific picture. This paper considers the question by investigating the impact of various camera and lens factors, such as focal length and recording...
